Enlighten Up!

Here's to all those who thought I was joking about helping out with a documentary film about yoga (for a few months in 2005 while finishing the PhD) - the film is out and looks fantastic! My friend Priya (Assoc Prod) and Kate (Prod) hired me as an intern to watch swamis speak about enlightenment - excellent.

Check it out at Enlighten Up! A must-see for anyone interested in yoga, it features every yoga master you've ever heard of, including B.K.S. Iyengar, Pattabhi Jois, Rodney Yee, Sharon Gannon, David Life and other gurus galore.

Filmmaker Kate Churchill was recently in Maui for its premiere, and the film was featured on CBS! It will play at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston soon. I'll keep you posted, never fear!

Book Review published!

Verve magazine in India published a modified version of a book review I wrote in May of Jhumpa Lahiri's new book. I'm still undecided about her writing - there are things I love, and things that I'm ambivalent about, like her style. While I'm always moved by her stories and enjoy reading them, I'm somehow left with the impression that I'm reading a work in progress. But who am I to argue with the millions who connect to her writing in a way that other writers can only dream of? Very curious about her next book and still stunned by the ridiculously large audiences that waited to hear her read in Boston in April. Star power, for sure!
